STRUCTURE

The course will be delivered utilizing a three-pronged approach:

Phase 1:        Pre-Workshop Activity

Registered participants are required to complete a pre-test that assesses knowledge of the proposed training content.  This process is augmented by the administration of the Project Pre-Screening Questionnaire, which collects information on participants’ project ideas and concepts.  This information is used to customize the various aspects of the training content in order to ensure relevance.

Phase 2:        Three-Day Workshop

This phase includes a 20-hour workshop that is delivered over three days.  During day 1, participants will be exposed to the components of a proposal that will be backed by theoretical underpinnings and supported by practical activities.  At the end of this session, participants will be equipped with fundamental knowledge of key concepts and processes in proposal writing.

Participants will use what was taught in the theoretical session (on day 1), via facilitation, coaching and mentoring as a guide to begin the process of developing a proposal (throughout Day 2) that will be submitted by the participant to an identified donor for funding.

Day 3 consists of two sessions which will be delivered by representatives of the local and international donor community; a day that is etched in the theme: Writing Winning

Proposals and Avoiding the Pitfalls!

Phase 3:        Remote Post-Workshop Coaching and Mentoring

Phase 3 will commence within a week of completing phase 1 and will end 6 weeks thereafter.  There will be two 3-hour sessions in which 6-8 participants (per session) will benefit from coaching and mentoring geared towards finalizing the proposals that will be submitted by the participants to suitable donors for funding.  The sessions will be held remotely using the www.gotomeeting/webinar.com platform.
